The infamous "kamikaze" AI that would randomly change lanes has been tuned. In 1.5.9, traffic cars now use turn signals more realistically, merge with better speed matching, and even react to emergency vehicles (if you enable your sirens in the police mod). This makes the training scenarios much more realistic.
