Sarm Hook End and Deliverance Studios in London provided a controlled environment, while El Cortijo Studios in San Pedro de Alcántara, Spain, offered a more secluded and inspiring backdrop. The production, helmed by the band alongside their longtime collaborator Mike Pela, is characteristically sparse. Simple guitar lines, a pulsating bass, and flickers of percussion create the heartbeat of the record, allowing ample space for Adu's distinctive voice to weave its spell. This marked a departure from the prominent saxophone lines of their earlier work, showcasing a band confident in shedding its past sonic signatures to explore new textures.
